If toggling on Free gifts in Settings returns an error, work through these checks.
1. Missing write_discounts scope
The most common cause. Look at the error toast — if it mentions Access denied or write_discounts, uninstall and reinstall StoreForms from your Shopify admin so the new scope is granted.
2. Function not deployed
Rare but possible — the StoreForms discount function may not have rolled out to your store's region yet. Email us at [email protected] with your shop domain and we'll investigate.
3. Shopify discount limit
Shopify limits each store to 25 active automatic discounts. If you've hit that ceiling, disable an unused discount in your admin and try again.
