Field roles — mapping to customer and company fields

Field roles tell StoreForms which fields should map to a Shopify customer or company on submit. Set roles on the fields that collect standard data like email, name, and company name.

Available roles

  • Email, Phone

  • First name, Last name, Full name

  • Company name, Company VAT/tax ID

  • Address line 1, Address line 2, City, Postal code, Country

  • Website, Notes

How to set a role

  1. Open a field in the editor.

  2. Pick a role from the Map dropdown.

What roles enable

  • Create or update a customer action uses fields with the Email, Phone, and Name roles

  • Create a company action uses the Company name, VAT, and Address roles

  • Flow trigger payloads include role-mapped values in named properties so you can use them directly in Flow steps
